About

On Oct 1, 2025, Democrats and Republicans collectively decided to shut down the federal government for the 11th time since the Jimmy Carter administration, each party laying the blame on the other. The members of these entrenched political parties had nothing to lose - they retained their jobs, they continued to get paid - but millions of federal employees were either fired, furloughed, or asked to work without pay. While Democrat and Republican lawmakers jockeyed for political leverage, tens of millions of ordinary Americans saw critical services they depend on suspended until further notice. Most shockingly among these were the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits which more than 40 million Americans rely on to help pay for groceries for their families. 40 million Americans were now faced with the possibility of having to choose between paying rent or feeding their children.

This time the Republicans and Democrats have gone too far.

Our government has been taken hostage by two reckless political parties - but we can break their stranglehold. The Republican and Democratic parties have nothing to fear because there is no one to challenge them, which is why they can afford to gamble with the lives of their constituents. Even though these parties have chosen to shut down our government and take away the services we pay for and rely on, there is still one power they cannot take away - the power to vote. For decades, every voter has had to hold their nose in the voting booth and choose between one or the other of these two very bad options - every year millions of wasted votes cast for nothing except more of the same.

But there is a third option. This time we can choose neither.

The birth of our nation began with a protest and subsequent boycott (see Boston Tea Party). “No taxation without representation” was the driving principle and battle cry of the American Revolution. History repeats itself and we have come around full circle. Once again, we find ourselves living in the intolerable position of taxation without representation. We pay our taxes, but the Democrats and Republicans no longer represent our interests - they represent their own self interests and the interests of their wealthy donors.

This election day, November 4, 2026 - on the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding - it’s time for another American Revolution. A protest and a boycott, to close the books on the first chapter of our nation’s history and to begin a new chapter where the people who are elected serve the interests of those who elect them. Democrat and Republican representatives continuously pit us against one another - we struggle while they benefit. We all have our differences, but there is one thing we can agree on - the Democrats and the Republicans have failed us and we will no longer support them. We demand change.
